Service

“There’s no greater purpose than service to others.”— Nick Nolte

Aside from teaching, research, and instructional design, one other purpose of an academic is to serve others passionately. Using my strengths and abilities, I have had the privilege of serving others in various capacities, giving me the opportunity to learn more about myself and to discover other areas I can be of service to the academic community. Below is a list of the few relevant acts of service I have offered.

Senator, (PGSG) : Aug 2022 - Aug 2023
  • Purdue Graduate Student Government (PGSG) is the voice of the graduate student community at Purdue. The organization represents graduate students’ interests and concerns to the university. In this role, I participated in discussions, deliberations, and decisions about what bills to consider as legislation. I advocated for graduate students’ needs. I also assisted with the planning and facilitation of campus events for graduate students.

Workshop Committee Lead, GSEC: Aug 2022 - Aug 2023
  • Graduate Student Education Council (GSEC) is an organization committed to providing professional support to graduate students at Purdue’s College of Education (COE). In this role, I was responsible for planning and coordinating workshops for graduate students in the College of Education. I also provided reports to fellow GSEC officers to update them on the progress of my team.

Mentor, GSEC: May 2022 - Aug 2022
  • In this role, I was responsible for providing professional and academic counsel to my assigned mentee.

Secretary, CIGSA: Aug 2021 - Aug 2022
  • Curriculum & Instruction Graduate Student Association(CIGSA) is an organization committed to providing academic support to graduate students in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at Purdue. In this role, I was responsible for recording and distributing minutes. Additionally, I organized and facilitated CIGSA workshops and events, and assisted with planning and logistics (reserving venues, calling involved parties, and managing email correspondence)
